Restaurant Report Volunteers Needed

At the August meeting, after having another restaurant discussion we decided to focus on restaurants at the September meeting. The goal is to provide factual information that will allow participants to make informed decisions on local restaurants that are or attempt to be gluten-free friendly.

Due to likely risk of cross contamination neither Mary nor Tracy choose to eat out with any regularity or frequency. So, the information shared at this meeting will have to come from those of you who do eat out.

If you're willing to share a fact based report on an area restaurant, please include the following:
1.) the name, exact address and phone number of the restaurant
2.) the name of a helpful or knowledgeable server or manager
3.) the processes the restaurant uses to limit cross contamination
4.) a copy of the gluten-free offerings or gluten-free menu or a web address leading to this info

It's essential to remember that just because a person may not have an outward physical reaction it is still possible that gluten has been consumed. Thus, we kindly ask everyone to refrain from using statements like "I know Jane's Diner served me a gluten-free meal because I didn't get sick." The only way to positively determine if one is ingesting any amount of gluten is to have antibody levels tested.

If you were volunteered or choose to volunteer to give a report, please add your name and the restaurant in the comments section so we can include it on the agenda. Thanks!
